LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's Trevor Britton was named the Centennial Conference (CC) Defensive Player of the Week for men's soccer, announced Monday. The honor is his second of the season and the Diplomats' fifth weekly conference accolade of 2014.
Britton tied a pair of program single-season records last week, matching the season wins total with 15 in a 1-0 shutout of Gettysburg on Wednesday, before tying the shutout record with his conference leading 11th of the season in a 0-0 2OT decision against Dickinson on Saturday.
The junior goalkeeper notched five saves against the Red Devils as F&M wrapped up the regular season with an unbeaten record of 15-0-2, 8-0-1 CC, secured the CC regular season title and enter the tournament with home field advantage as the No. 1 seed. The Diplomats will host the conference semifinals and championship match at Tylus Field this weekend, squaring off against the winner of No. 4 Haverford and No. 5 Johns Hopkins on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
