Series History

Franklin & Marshall, ranked No. 6 in the nation and No. 1 in the Mid-Atlantic region, faces off against a pair of tough opponents this week, entering play with a 6-1, 1-0 Centennial mark and riding a five-game winning streak. Competition opens at home against William Paterson on Wednesday, a non-conference foe the Diplomats hold a 3-1 record against going back to 2000.

Saturday features a showdown on the road against Conference rival Haverford which serves as a rematch of last year's Centennial Championship. The Diplomats were edged out by a narrow 3-2 2OT score in that match and are searching for their first win in Haverford since 2011.

Last Week

The Diplomats went 2-0 last week, downing No. 16 Stevens at home in a 1-0 2OT thriller, before upending Muhlenberg on Saturday by a 2-1 tally.

Carl Friedrich's freekick strike in the 103rd minute and Christopher Amoruso's second-straight shutout in net helped key the win over Stevens. Recap. Video Highlights.

A.J. Kopacz notched a pair of goals against Muhlenberg on Saturday, including a game-winning, 72nd-minute penalty kick score. Recap. Video Highlights.

Among the Leaders

Kopacz is tied for fifth among Centennial leaders in goals with five. Amoruso ranked fourth among goalkeepers in save percentage (.842) and third in lowest goals against average (0.43).

As a team, the Diplomats are only second to McDaniel in goals-against average with a 0.56 mark.

Record Book Watch

Connor Whitacre is tied for seventh in program history in career game-winning goals with five, while teammate Robert Maze is close behind in 11th with four. Ben Beaver '14 tops the list with 20 in his career.

Goalkeeper Christopher Amoruso broke the top-10 for career shutouts and now places sixth with 13. Zach Zamek '10 holds the record with 25. He has accumulated 22 wins in his career as well, a mark which places seventh. Zamek also holds that record with 41.

In the Polls

F&M shot up seven spots to No. 6 in the United Soccer Coaches Top-25 National Poll. Johns Hopkins is the Centennial's next highest-ranked team at No. 9, while Haverford joined the poll at No. 21. Tufts tops the list at No. 1. The Diplomats also moved up to the number one spot in the Mid-Atlantic Regional rankings, followed by CC opponents Johns Hopkins and Haverford. Complete poll.

In the D3soccer.com weekly poll, the Diplomats moved up four spots to No. 9. Complete poll

CC Home Win Streak

The Diplomats haven't dropped a Centennial game at home since Oct. 31, 2015, holding a 12-0-3 record in their previous 15 Conference contests in Lancaster.

Reaching a Milestone

With a 1-0 shutout of Scranton on Saturday, Sept. 14th, head coach Dan Wagner reached the 200-win milestone for his career.

Wagner became the program's all-time wins leader in 2012 and is one of only five coaches in the history of the CC to reach the milestone, with the leader being Johns Hopkins' Matt Smith with 240.

A Record Streak

F&M's six-consecutive NCAA Tournament bids is a record streak unmatched in the history of the Centennial Conference (CC). The Diplomats hold an 11-6 playoff record during that time span, including a 7-1 record in Lancaster.
