F&M Finishes First at Invitational


LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's men's swimming team finished in first out of 10 teams with 1,490 points in their annual three-day invitational. Mary Washington finished in second with 1,412.5 points and Mount Saint Mary's has 1,155 points to take third.

Additional Notes

DiBattista's 53.23 in the 100-yard IM set the F&M Invitational record. Additionally, the 400-yard freestyle relay time of 3:01.88 is a record for the F&M Invitational.

Cole Winters-McCabe (17:23.58) and Andrew Canjura (17:25.06) finished eighth and 10th, respectively, in the 1,650-yard freestyle to give the Diplomats three top-10 finishes in the event.

In the 100-yard freestyle, Alex Sang (51.96), Brendan Cline (54.49), and Matthew Hopkins (47.03) took seventh, eighth, and 10th place finishes. F&M had four of the top 10 times in the 100-yard freestyle.

Cameron Mehta's 2:09.20 in the 200-yard breaststroke was good for fifth. The Diplomats finished with two swimmers in the top-five.

Ryan Lawlor went 1:55.96 and Jacob Nelson went 1:59.26, good for sixth and tenth, respectively, to total three top-10 finishes for F&M in the 200-yard Butterfly.

The Diplomats do not return to competition until Jan. 12 when F&M travels to Susquehanna for a 2:00 p.m. meet.
