NEWVILLE, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall totaled 148 points to take fifth place at the Centennial Conference Championships hosted by Dickinson College on a snowy Saturday afternoon. Haverford tallied 19 points to run away with the team crown, while Dickinson (46), Swarthmore (110) and Johns Hopkins (114) were the remaining teams in the top five.
Haverford's Jordan Schilit (26:52.8) won the individual title, edging out Dickinson's Dylan Straughan (26:58.9) for top honors. Each of the next five finishers, in spots three through seven, were also Haverford runners.
The Diplomats used a balanced team effort to secure fifth, as all five F&M scorers placed in the top third in a field of 105 competitors. Greg Duckloe was the first Diplomat to cross the line with a mark of 28:25.1 to nab 24th place, with Tim Merlino next in 33rd with a time of 28:51.6.
F&M returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 12 at the Mideast Regional Championships hosted by DeSales at 11:00 am.
