GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's men's cross country team placed fifth – the highest of any Centennial Conference team -- in a 34-team field at the Gettysburg Invitational Saturday afternoon. Bryan Andrews led the Diplomats with a 15th place finish in in 26:25. Lebanon Valley's Michael Harnish won the event, with 355 runners, by navigating the 8K course in 25:43.
Bucknell won the team title with three runners in the top 15. Washington & Less came in second, followed by Messiah and Salisbury.
Luk Olenginski (26:28) was slightly behind Andrews in 17th place, while Greg Olenginski (26:40) placed 22nd for the Diplomats. James Hamilton (27:19) finished in 39th and Carlton Christie (28:24) took 91st to score for F&M. J.T. Paganelli (28:37) and Michael Whalen (28:40) also competed for the Diplomats and finished 106 and 110, respectively.
The Diplomats return to action Saturday, Nov. 1, at the Centennial Conference championship hosted by Haverford.
