Diplomats Dominate at Alvernia Invitational

READING, Pa. – Six top-10 finishes and four of the top five led Franklin & Marshall to a first-place performance in the men's 8K race at the Alvernia Invitational on Saturday. The Diplomats totaled just 20 points on the day, while second-place Alvernia collected 37.

Patrick Manion took winner's honors on the day, posting a time of 28:01.4 on the 8,000-meter course. Teammate Spencer Lyman was close behind, finishing second place with a time of 28:13.5.

Ignacio Picado Fallas was next across the line for F&M, finishing at 29:15.9 to take fourth place. He was followed by Brien Miceli in fifth with a time of 29:25.9.

Alex Fiori and Aron Tesfay rounded out the top-10, with Fiori coming in ninth in 30:05.1 and Tesfay posting a time of 30:06.0 to take 10th. Ryan Kiger (15th, 31:01.1) and Adam Caccavale (16th, 31:36.6) recorded solid performances on the day as well.

F&M competes next on Saturday, October 29 at the Centennial Conference (CC) Championships hosted by Haverford.
