PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall's Varsity 8+ boat claimed gold for the second consecutive weekend, placing first at the 53rd annual Kerr Cup Regatta on Saturday in Philadelphia.

A boat of Kelly Minard (coxswain), Katie Benham (8), Sam Hershey (7), Margaret Stoner (6), Liz Brodie (5), Emily Briggs (4), Katherine Gerber (3), Kayleigh Rine (2), and Helen Nelson (1) rolled into the finals with a first-place showing in the preliminary heat with a time 7:19.12, which was more than five seconds ahead of St. Mary's in second.
In the DIII final, the Diplomats provided another impressive performance by pacing a six-team field at 7:32.09. Bryn Mawr was far behind in second place (7:41.68), followed by St. Mary's in third (7:155.15).
Lauren Baker (Coxswain), Rebecca Gold (4), Faith Bush (3), Qiran Ji (2), Sarah Labovitz (1) teamed up for the Diplomats to take fourth in the Varsity 4+ DIII final with a time of 9:13.40. Carnegie Mellon led the field of five competitors at 8:10.70.
Saturday's competition marked an end to the Diplomats' regular-season as F&M returns to the water on Saturday, April 27th at the Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference (MARC) Championships in Lewisberry, Pa.
