Series History: No. 12 Franklin & Marshall opens the week hosting No. 2 Messiah with the Falcons owning a 22-7-4 overall record and F&M's last victory coming in 2014. The Diplomats continue Centennial Conference (CC) action on Saturday when Swarthmore comes to town. F&M holds a 9-3-1 record when playing in Lancaster.

Last Game Against Messiah: F&M fell by a 3-1 tally against Messiah last season. Lily Mynott notched the lone Diplomat goal off an assist from Erin Coverdale.

Last Game Against Swarthmore: The Diplomats delivered a staunch 8-0 win over the Garnet on Sept. 30, 2017. Coverdale, Emily Nagle, and Sydney Cole each recorded two goals, with Nicole Bodo and Claire Murphy scoring one apiece.

Last Week: F&M finished the week 7-1, 2-1 CC after a 4-0 shutout against Dickinson on Wednesday and a 3-1 victory over the weekend against Haverford. 

Coverdale notched her fourth career hat trick to lead the offense against the Red Devils while Mynott tallied her second goal of the season.

In the Rankings: The Diplomats dropped one spot to No. 12 in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Poll. Johns Hopkins (No. 17) and Ursinus (No. 25) are the only other CC schools while reigning Champion, Middlebury, sits in the top spot.

Among the Leaders (NCAA): After allowing just two goals on the year, F&M ranks first across Division III teams in save percentage (.929) and ranks second in goals against average (0.25) and shutouts per game (0.75). Goalkeeper Ilianna Santangelo sits second in the country for goals against average (0.25) and save percentage (0.917). 

Among the Leaders (CC): Coverdale currently leads all CC players with 19 points and is first with nine goals on the year while Katie O'Loughlin and Emma Durantine are tied for second with three assists. Santangelo leads the Conference in save percentage (.917) and goals-against average (0.25).

CC POTW: Earlier this week, Coverdale was named the Centennial Conference (CC) Offensive Player of the Week for field hockey, announced by the league office. The honor was the fourth in Coverdale's career, and her second this season.

Milestone Watch: Coverdale is tied for fourth in program history with eight game-winning goals. Sydney Cole '17 leads the category with 15. The sophomore forward is also tied for 11th in career goals at 35 and needs one more to crack the top-10. Laura Kramedas '79 leads with 53.  

Santangelo is tied for second in career shutouts with 26, while Laura Cianciulli '82 leads with 30. 

Santangelo Sets Win Mark: With a 7-0 F&M victory over Eastern on Sept 12., Santangelo set the program record for career wins with 51. She surpassed Avery Koep '14. 

Home-field Advantage: The Diplomats enters the week holding a 10-game winning streak at home that dates back to Sept. 13, 2017, while also owning a 7-0 record in CC games played in Lancaster dating back to Oct. 22, 2016.
