Series History

The No. 11 Diplomats begin their week with a Wednesday night matchup at Lebanon Valley. It is the first matchup between the Diplomats and Dutchmen in six years, when F&M took a 1-0 victory in Annville in 2013.

No. 11 F&M plays its home opener Saturday afternoon when they host Mary Washington. The Diplomats defeated the Eagles 2-0 when they faced off last season, and have won four of the last five matchups with Mary Washington on a 13-8 goal differential.

Last Week

F&M traveled to FDU-Florham last week and shut out the Devils 2-0. Kat Horsley knocked in a penalty stroke, which was the only score of the game until a 55th-minute insurance blast by Lily Mynott. Goalkeeper Christina Seery (2-0) earned her first career shutout in her second career start.

F&M was selected as the No. 11 team in all of Division III in the first NFHCA poll of the regular season. Four Centennial Conference teams received votes in the national rankings: No. 8 Johns Hopkins, No. 11 F&M, No. 13 Ursinus, and Haverford. The next poll is set to debut on Tuesday, Sept. 17. The Diplomats were selected to finish second in the CC in the 2019 Centennial Conference Field Hockey Preseason Poll. Johns Hopkins was selected to repeat as CC Champions, receiving 99 total points, including eight first-place votes. F&M received the remaining three first-place votes (93 total points) after falling to JHU in the CC Championship last season. Complete Poll.

Record Book Watch

Erin Coverdale enters the week second in program history with 14 career game-winning goals. She is just one behind Sydney Cole '18 as the program leader. Coverdale has 46 career goals and is sixth in program history. She is one goal away from entering the top-five. Coverdale has 17 career assists, tied for 10th in program history, and is one away from moving into a three-way tie for eighth in program history.

Caitlin Morrissey has six penalty stroke conversions in her career, which is second in program history. The F&M record is 10 (Annie Horsley '18).
