LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's women's lacrosse team is ranked eighth in two preseason polls. The Diplomats rank eighth in both the Lacrosse Magazine Preseason Poll and the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWCLA) Preseason Poll.
Defending national champions, Salisbury, was ranked first by both polls while Centennial Conference (CC) rivals Gettysburg and Washington were also ranked in the top-20.
F&M returns 24 members, including seven starters, from last year's team that finished the season with a 17-6 record and advanced to the NCAA Regional Finals for the second year in a row.
The Diplomats will face five teams in the top-20 this season. Salisbury (1st), Washington & Lee (12th) York (13th), Washington (17th) and Stevenson (18th) all appear on F&M's 2015 schedule.
F&M opens the season on Feb. 21 when the Diplomats travel to Brockport St. for a 1:00 p.m. contest.
