HAVERFORD, Pa. – No. 3 Franklin & Marshall cruised to a 19-4 victory over Haverford in Centennial Conference (CC) women's lacrosse action Saturday afternoon. The Diplomats improved to 14-1 with a perfect 7-0 mark in CC action while the Fords fell 8-7, 3-4 CC.
Paige Moriarty paced the Diplomats with four goals and one assist and Brittney Jorgenson added three scores and one helper for the Diplomats. Grace Saliba scored twice with an assist and Casey Madden along with Natalie Delinsky both picked up a pair of scores while Gabby Frank, Hannah Serling, Christie Huidekoper, Emily Everdell, Katie Groenke and Claire Jackson all scored for the Diplomats. Everdell's goal was the 100th of her career.
Kimberly Abruzzo, Taylor Freud, Emily D'Erasmo and Anastasia Mergner all finished with an assist. Samantha Blicht led the defense with four caused turnovers and five ground balls and Moriarty finished with five caused turnovers and five ground balls. Rachael Consoli and D'Erasmo both had two caused turnovers, and Mergner came away with four draws.
Kaitlin Hardt picked up the win in goal with six stops and improved to 8-0 while Megan Chenworth took the loss with 10 stops.
F&M outshot Haverford 32-13 and went 12-for-14 in clear attempts.
The Diplomats return to action on Wednesday when F&M hosts No. 6 Gettysburg at 7:00 p.m.
