LANCASTER, Pa. — Franklin & Marshall attacker Paige Moriarty was named the Centennial Conference (CC) Offensive Player of the Week for women's lacrosse while goalie Danielle Harrington garnered CC Defensive Player of the Week. The honors are the first for both this season.
Moriarty (Glen Ridge, N.J.) scored six goals and handed out three assists to lead No. 8 Franklin & Marshall to a 12-2 upset over No. 2 Cortland on Saturday. Moriarty scored on six of her seven shots she took. In the process, she became the fastest player in school history to register 200 or more points in a career.
Harrington (Massapequa, N.Y.) stood tall in goal, turning away eight shots the victory over No. 2 Cortland. She added two caused turnovers and three ground balls as F&M held Cortland to the fewest goals in recent memory.
The Diplomats return to action on Wednesday when F&M takes on Fredonia State at 9:00 a.m. and Western Connecticut at 2:30 p.m in Florida.
