Women's Soccer 2010 Preview

2010 Schedule | Roster

LANCASTER, Pa. – After going through some growing pains in 2009, the Franklin & Marshall women's soccer team looks to continue rebuilding the program this season.  The Diplomats started a handful of freshmen last season and that invaluable experience should translate to more wins on the field this year.  The squads potential will be realized through hard word and a strong collective effort both off and on the field.

The experience and leadership of the veteran players will be critical in the success of the team this year. Seniors Shelby Cummins and Amy Chabitnoy join juniors Henley Seigrist and Bailey Huber as captains this season.  Cummins led the team in scoring a year ago with four goals.  Chabitnoy, Seigrist and Huber will anchor the defensive unit.

Sophomore's Holly Lagasse, Jen Korngut and Carley Nicholson look to build on last year's experience as returning letter winners.  Lagasse starting in 18 contests and Korngut saw action every game, starting 10, a season ago. Nicholson tallied two goals and one assist in her freshmen campaign.

Katie Golding returns at goalie this year. The sophomore tallied 106 saves for a .785 save percentage in 2009.

Bill Esterly will begin his first season as head coach. He is joined by first-year assistant Kelly Haas '04.

Thanks to your continued support of the Diplomats Athletic Club, the days of pay-per-view webcasts are over. Franklin & Marshall has partnered with Stretch Internet to bring you free, live video of all home soccer games this year. Franklin & Marshall has taken the concept one step further, taking advantage of Stretch's new GameCentral portal that finally puts live stats and live video on the same page.
