McGowan Named CC Defensive Player of the Week

LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall goalkeeper Amanda McGowan was named the Centennial Conference (CC) Defensive Player of the Week, announced Tuesday. McGowan received the honor for the second time in her career, with the other coming during her sophomore season (10/3).

Leading her team to a 2-0 start, McGowan patrolled between the pipes for 210 minutes without allowing a goal. The senior goalkeeper registered 11 saves, recording the 14th and 15th shutouts of her career to leave her just one shy of tying the school's all-time mark.

In a 1-0, 2OT win against Scranton on Friday, McGowan picked up six saves, including a pair of key stops in extra minutes.

The Diplomats return to action next Sunday when F&M faces off against Roanoke at 1:00 p.m. in Lancaster.
