The Diplomats look to return to the Centennial Conference (CC) playoffs after finishing with a 5-9-3 mark last season. With seven players who started 10 or more games returning, the main void F&M needs to fill is at the goalkeeper position as Amanda McGowan, who was lost to graduation, recorded five shutouts last year and 19 for her career, a program record. She earned a spot on the CC First Team a season ago for the third-consecutive year and placed fourth in the conference in goals against average (1.07).
However, head coach Bill Esterly has three solid goalkeepers in senior Caroline Letner, junior Nicole Savidge, and freshman Shannon Johnson-Finn who are all battling in practice and raising the level of competition.

D – Brianna Reid – Sr.
M – Allison Miller – Sr.
F – Spencer Plante – Sr.
M – Nicole Rynecki – Sr.
M – Adrian Glass – Sr.
F – Alexa Yarish – Sr.
Last season, Rynecki led the team with 14 points, including seven goals, while Plante added seven points and three goals for the Diplomats. This formidable group of seniors combined with a talented, hard-working freshmen class look to make some noise in the CC this season.
A strong defensive unit a year ago kept F&M within striking distance in nearly every game as the Diplomats ranked sixth in the CC in total goals against (20) and sixth in goals against average (1.09). Esterly believes his returners bring great leadership to the team, as F&M looks to make significant strides forward in the upcoming season.
