Series History

History has been unkind to the Diplomats their matchup with Muhlenberg, as F&M's last victory occurred eight years ago. The only points F&M has been able to salvage are a trio of scoreless draws (2012, 2016, 2017). On the bright side, three of the Diplomats' four victories against the Mules have come in Lancaster.

Last Week

The Diplomats finished up their final week before the start of Centennial play with a strong 1-0-1 record, tying local rival Elizabethtown 1-1 on the road, before putting together a comprehensive 2-0 victory over Goucher at home on Saturday.

Nicolette Runko scored the lone F&M goal early in Tuesday's draw, punching in a rebound off a saved penalty kick in the 11th minute. The Blue Jays answered back just 10 minutes later, and the teams ended all square after double overtime.

The Diplomats continued their trend of scoring early against Goucher, as Emily Cleary cracked a one-timer past the Gopher 'keeper for a 1-0 advantage in the ninth minute. Meg O'Callahan doubled the lead in the second half, courtesy of a 72nd-minute penalty kick.

First Since 2013

F&M's hot start to the season is its best since 2013 when the Diplomats also posted a 3-1-1 record in their first five games. That 2013 team finished with 13 goals in 17 matches - the 2019 squad already has 10 goals by comparison.

Good Hands Club

The pairing of Sara Ghorashi and Tara Hessenthaler in net has been a record-setting one at the beginning of the season. Currently, the duo ranks first in school history in GAA (0.57) and third in save percentage (.880) with Centennial tilts still remaining.

Finding Twine

Through the first five games, F&M has shown a knack for finding the back of the net. While not the offensive dynamo the team was in the 1980's, the 2.00 goals per game is the best mark in 17 years, when the Diplomats averaged 2.55 goals per game in 2002.
