COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. Franklin & Marshall fell to Ursinus 6-4 in a Centennial Conference game Tuesday. The contest was supposed to be a doubleheader but the second game was suspended due to darkness in the fifth. The Diplomats fell to 14-7 overall, 1-2 CC while the Bears improved to 8-8, 1-2.

Ursinus built a 5-0 lead in the first two innings in the first game. A pair of doubles from Jamie Miles and Kristen Gallagher gave the Bears a 3-0 lead after one inning. Amy Gentile scored on error in the second and Taylor Zeltisky drew a walk to score another run and put Ursinus ahead 5-0 after two.

The Diplomats got their first run in the third inning when Megan Pauley belted a solo home run to make it 5-1. The Bears got the run back in the bottom of the inning when Kelli Jerdan sacrifice to right.

Liz Chudzik's double to left in the sixth plated Samantha Denoville, who had a leadoff single to start the inning, to make it 6-2. Liz Middleton's single to left scored Chudzik to make it 6-3. Chudzik scored the last run of the game for the Diplomats in the top of the seventh with a single to center.

Caitlin Whlean earned the win for Ursinus while Kaitlin Zampino took the loss for the Diplomats.

The Diplomats return to CC play Saturday at McDaniel in a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
