LANCASTER, Pa. – Two Franklin & Marshall softball players were named to the Centennial Conference (CC) First Team announced Wednesday. Malorie Sassaman earned the recognition at shortstop, while Julianne Whitleigh made the list as a designated player.
Sassaman (Pottstown, Pa. / Pottstown)
Sassaman lands on the first team for the second time in her career, having also earned the honor after her freshman campaign. This season, the junior shortstop was third in the conference with a .438 batting average. Her 39 hits were good for second on the team while her eight doubles tied for first.
Whitleigh (Lanoka Harbor, N.J. / Lacey Township)
Whitleigh earned All-CC recognition for the first time in her career after placing second on the team in both homeruns (three) and RBIs (19). The senior outfielder tallied 18 runs on the season, which was good for fourth, while her .483 slugging percentage ranked third.
