Franklin & Marshall heads into the second-last week of the season with a record of 10-16, 6-4 CC. The Diplomats sit in the fourth and final playoff position entering the week but face a pair of vital Centennial Conference (CC) twin bills on either side of a nonconference doubleheader.

Series History: F&M travels to Gettysburg on Tuesday for a conference doubleheader with the Bullets. Gettysburg enters with a 49-22 lead in the previous 71 matchups, but last season saw the teams split a pair on April 19.

The Diplomats then visit Penn St.-Brandywine to continue a series that began in 2015 when F&M took one of two from the Nittany Lions. The series record remains tied at 1-1.

CC play continues on Saturday when Ursinus visits Lancaster, bringing with them a 44-20 lead in the all-time series with F&M. The Diplomats earned a split in last season's doubleheader, played in Collegeville on March 29.

A Look at Gettysburg: The Bullets enter with a record of 20-9-1 including a 7-4-1 mark in conference play. A 7-1 mark in its last eight games has propelled Gettysburg to third in the conference, one spot ahead of the Diplomats.

Meredith Taylor (.398) leads a Bullet offense that is hitting .304 on the season. She also accounts for half of the team's home runs as she has two of Gettysburg's four on the year.

A Look at Penn St.-Brandywine: The Nittany Lions come into the week with a 15-9 record and a 13-1 conference mark to pace the PSUAC. Arianna Segich's .481 average leads a team with four players hitting better than .400.

A Look at Ursinus: The Bears, currently sixth in the CC standings, carry a record of 12-16, 4-6 into the second-last week of conference play. Kaitlyn Willis leads the Ursinus pitching staff with a 10-7 record, putting together a 3.14 ERA in 107 innings.

Last Week: The Diplomats opened play last week by hosting Susquehanna for a twin bill on Tuesday, dropping a pair of tough decisions to the River Hawks by scores of 5-4 and 9-5.

F&M took on another nonconference doubleheader on Thursday, visiting Elizabethtown and earning wins of 7-1 and 6-2 to sweep the Blue Jays.

The Diplomats rounded off the week by splitting a pair of conference games with Swarthmore on Saturday, taking game one 6-2 before falling 6-3 in the back half of the doubleheader.

Dinger Derby: F&M continues to lead the conference in home runs, crushing 15 long balls on the season. McDaniel has hit the second most with 10, while no other team has hit more than six.

Nine of those dingers have come from Lexi Piccinich (5) and Taylor Long (4), who rank first and second in the CC. Piccinich is now just one shy of the program record for home runs by a freshman and two shy of the conference record for homers by a freshman.

Katie Wenger has three long balls of her own this season, tying for third in the CC, while Kelly Van O'Linda is tied for sixth in the CC with two. Wenger now has nine in her career, good for second-most in program history. The record is held by Lauren Incorvaia '09 with 15.

Among the Leaders: Piccinich also ranks in the Centennial's top 10 for RBIs, tying for third with 19. Ryan Correa's seven doubles on the year tie her for seventh in the CC, and Long's .353 batting average has her ranking ninth in the conference.

Izzy Schaefer's seven wins place her in a tie for sixth in the conference. She also ranks ninth in strikeouts with 51, while Wenger is 10th with 42.

Milestone Watch: Megan Ryan broke into the program's top 10 in both games played and games started, ranking seventh in starts (118) and sixth in appearances (121). She is also sixth in program history with 25 doubles and seventh with 58 RBIs.

Schaefer ranks in the program's top 10 of several pitching categories. Her nine career shutouts are tops in program history, her 229 career strikeouts are fourth, and she ranks in the top 10 for wins (T-4th, 27), complete games (5th, 37) and innings pitched (7th, 334 1/3).
