LANCASTER, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall sits in second place with 189.5 points through Saturday morning's first session of the F&M Invitational in women's swimming action at McGinness Pool. The Diplomats are behind only California (Pa.), which leads with 284 points, while Washington & Lee (174.5), Kutztown (131) and St. Mary's (Md.) (121) round out the top five.
Katherine Grant led the way for F&M in session one, bringing home the squad's lone victory of the opening five events. Grant set the pace in the 500 freestyle with a winning time of 5:09.70 to nab 20 points for the Diplomats, while Olivia Hill finished second in 5:12.59 for 17 points. Garland Bartlett was also in the mix in the 500 freestyle, taking fifth in 5:16.99 to earn 14 additional points for F&M.
Katherine DeCrosta placed seventh in the 200 IM with a time of 2:14.39, good for 12 points.
F&M also had some success in the relays, taking fourth and 10th in the 200 freestyle, along with seventh and ninth place finishes in the 400 medley.
Krista Hollingsworth, Jackie Behr, DeCrosta and Daen teamed up to place fourth in the 200 freestyle at 1:41.04, while Charlotte Katter, Maggie Johns, Courtney Gregor and Grant grabbed 10th in 1:45.06.
Session two of the F&M Invitational is set for a 6:00 pm start at McGinness Pool.
