GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall women's swimming team placed 15 swimmers from this mornings preliminaries to the finals. Eight swimmers made the championship round, while seven reached the consolation finals for the Diplomats who currently sit in first place with 192 points.
Katie Grant took fourth in the 200 free with a 1:58.08, while Krista Hollingsworth reached the finals taking sixth at 1:58.87.
In the 100 breaststroke Katherine DeCrosta finished third behind Washington 's Ellie Miskiel and McDaniel's Rachel Walega with a time of 1:09.20. Werner also found her way into the finals coming in sixth at 1:09.80.
The eighth Diplomat to reach the finals was Caitlyn Fuller in the 100 backstroke. Fuller swam to a fifth place finish at 1:01.83.
Reaching the consolations for the Diplomats were: Lauren Siegel (4:58.66, 12th) in the 400 IM, Jackie Behr (1:02.43, 11th) edging out Swarthmore's Hannah Gotwels by .2 seconds and Courtney Gregor (1:03.19, 14th). Rebecca Daen (1:59.18) and Garland Bartlett (2:01.26) took 10th and 16th in the 200 free, Becca Citi (1:11.29, 12th) in the 100 breaststroke, and Kasey Christiansen (1:04.47, 16th) in the 100 backstroke.
Seven finals will be held tonight at 6 p.m. Champions will be crowned in the 200 medley relay, 400 IM, 100 butterfly, 200 free, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke, and 800 free relay.
