LANCASTER, Pa. – Katherine Grant picked up school records in both the 1000 and 1650 freestyle on Friday night at day one of the F&M Invitational. The Diplomats earned 75 points after two events, good for a second-place tie with California University (Pa.). F&M trails Saint Mary's College of Washington by only two points.
Grant previously held the school records in both events and shattered them on Friday night, finishing with a time of 10:21.22 in the 1000 freestyle and 17:11.00 in the 1650 freestyle. Her record time was also good for an NCAA "B" cut qualifier.
Her previous record in the 1000 freestyle was 10:30.22, while her record in the 1650 freestyle was 17:26.00.
Maggie Johns rounded out the top-10 for F&M, placing seventh with a time of 18:22.61.
F&M continues the Invitational tomorrow with finals set for 6:00 p.m.
