INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Katherine Grant's time of 17:09.69 in the 1650-yard freestyle at the Centennial Conference (CC) Championships last month earned her a spot at the NCAA Championship after qualifying with the 14th-best time in the country. The meet will be held at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind. from March 19-22.

In addition to competing in the 1650-yard freestyle, Grant will also swim in the 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle. This season, Grant earned bronze at the CC Championship in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:54.51 and won gold in the 500-yard freestyle at 4:59.49, which was the 18th-fastest time in the country.
The 500 takes place tomorrow with trials at 10:00 a.m. and finals at 6:00 p.m., followed by the 200 on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. and concludes with the 1650 on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Grant qualified for the NCAAs last year and swam in the same three races she will be competing in this year. She finished 13th in the 1650-freestyle final (17:10.44) and placed 15th in the 500-yard freestyle (4:59.85).
