INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Katherine Grant competed in the 500-yard freestyle at day one of the NCAA Championships on Wednesday, finishing the preliminary event with a time of 5:07.27. Grant missed out on tonight's finals but will compete in the 200-yard freestyle tomorrow. The top finish in the 500-yard preliminary came from Sarah Thompson from Williams with a time of 4:51.32.
The 200-yard freestyle takes place tomorrow with preliminaries at 10:00 a.m. and finals at 6:00 p.m. Grant earned a bronze medal at the Centennial Conference (CC) Championship in the 200 with a time of 1:54.51. She will then compete in the 1650-yard freestyle on Saturday (10:00 a.m. preliminaries and 6:00 p.m. finals) after posting a time of 4:59.49 at the CC Championships, which was good for 14th-fastest in the country.
