Diplomats Advance Seven into Finals

LANCASTER, Pa. – Seven Franklin & Marshall women swimmers advanced to tonight's final at day two of the F&M Invitational. 

In the 50-yard freestyle, Jillian Albus advanced to tonight's final after posting a time of 25.24, good for 12th out of 72 swimmers.

Melissa Mullin advanced in two races, the 400-yard individual medley (4:39.33) where she finished second overall, and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:28.85) a race that she finished third in. 

Bridget Dromerick also advanced to two finals tonight, placing 5th in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:57.62, and 16th in the 100-yard backstroke at 1:02.19. 

Also advancing were Kellen McDonald in the 400-yard individual medley (4:47.19) and Michelle Wall in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:33.21).

The only timed event of the morning was the 800-yard freestyle where a team of Breann Cavanagh, Courtney Collins, Leeza Rojas, and Dromerick finished fourth with a time of 7:59.46 to earn points for the Diplomats.

F&M moved up to fourth place (121 points) overall with its fourth-place showing in the 800-yard freestyle. Mount Saint Mary's continues to lead with 194 points.

Day 2 concludes with finals at 6:00 p.m. tonight.
