LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall knocked off undefeated Susquehanna 145-117 non-conference women's swimming action on Saturday afternoon. The Diplomats improved to 4-1, while the Crusaders suffered their first loss of the season and sit at 5-1.
Meyers took home first-place points again, this time in the 500-yard freestyle at 2:14.12, and added another first-place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:33.51, followed by Leeza Rojas in second at 11:13.99 and Mary Ann Robison in third at 11:14.88.
In the 50-yard freestyle, Jillian Albus placed first with a time of 25.43, while Bridget Dromerick finished third at 26.22. Dromerick touched first in the 200-yard freestyle at 1:59.39, and Albus added a second-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (55.87) while Katherine Grant took third (55.88).
Melissa Mullin touched the wall first in the 200-yard breaststroke, finishing with a time of 2:32.11. Dromerick earned second-place points in the 200-yard backstroke at 2:13.54 and Courtney Collins finished closed behind (2:16.23) in third.
In the 100-yard butterfly, McDonald took second (1:02.42) while Albus placed third (1:03.95).
Three Diplomats earned the top three spots in the 200-yard individual medley, as Mullin placed first (2:16.93) followed by Collins (2:19.14) in second and McDonald in third (2:19.25).
F&M returns to the pool on Friday when the Diplomats play host to McDaniel at 6:00 p.m.
