LANCASTER, Pa. – Bridget Dromerick has been named Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) South Swimmer and Rookie of the Week for women's swimming. This is the freshman's first ECAC honor, and second of the week, after being named Centennial Conference (CC) Swimmer and Rookie of the Year following her impressive showing at the 2015 CC Championships.
At the championships this past weekend, Dromerick touched the wall first in the 200-yard backstroke at 2:04.33 and also won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:55.65. She also earned a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle, touching at 1:53.00.
The rookie was a part of two medal-winning relay teams, the 800-yard freestyle team that took bronze at 7:47.75, and the 400-yard medley relay squad that also placed third with a time of 3:34.03.
Dromerick has qualified for the NCAA's, which take place in Shenendoah, Texas. The four-day event goes from March 18-21, and the freshman has qualified for the 500-yard freestyle, where she'll be the eight-seed going into the meet. She will also swim in the 200-yard backstroke (26th seed) and the 200-yard freestyle (32nd seed).
