LANCASTER, Pa. – Preliminary heats of the 500-yard freestyle, 200-yard IM, and 50-yard freestyle saw six Franklin & Marshall athletes advance to the finals after session one of the Centennial Conference Women's Swimming Championships, hosted by F&M. Tonight's session will feature the finals of those three events as well as the 200-yard freestyle relay and 400-yard medley relay.
Caroline Fry and Grace Pereles will both go for gold tonight after leading the Diplomats to a strong showing in the 500-yard freestyle prelims. Fry touched the wall in 5:08.98 to qualify fourth, while Pereles also found her way into the A final by finishing eighth with a time of 5:11.79.
Erin Fago will represent F&M in tonight's A final of the 50-yard freestyle, powering her way to a time of 24.61, good for the fifth-fastest time of the morning.
Melissa Mullin paced F&M in the 200-yard IM, booking her spot in the A final after qualifying seventh with a time of 2:12.29. Anna Hess found her way into the B final after taking 10th (2:13.79), where she will be joined by teammate Katherine Hirsch (13th, 2:14.64).
Tonight's session is set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
