Crawley Lands Eighth; All-American Honors at NCAA Finals

BEREA, Ohio – After running a school record-breaking time in the preliminary heat of the 800-meter run on Friday, freshman standout Sheena Crawley landed eighth place in the finals with a time of 2:12.83 at the National Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships Saturday.

The time was good enough to earn All-American honors, F&M's first in women's track & field since 1994. Marie Borner from Bethel University earned top honors in the race with an NCAA Championship record time of 2:06.87. The top eight finishers were separated only by six seconds.

Crawley, the Centennial Conference champion in the 800, was the only female Diplomat to qualify for the national meet this season. She qualified for Saturday's finals with a preliminary time of 2:11.39 Friday evening.
