BEREA, Ohio – Competing in her first National Outdoor Track and Field Championship Meet of her college career, freshman Sheena Crawley finished the 800-meter run in a school record-breaking time of 2:11.39.
Crawley's time landed her third in her heat of the preliminary round and advanced her to the finals, scheduled for 2:50 p.m. on Saturday. She broke her own school record of 2:12.60, a time which landed her an NCAA provisional qualifying mark.
Also making his debut at the NCAAs, Nils Michaelis matched his personal record of 14.57 seconds in the prelims of the 110-meter hurdles. Michaelis' time, unfortunately, did not qualify him for the final heat.
Final meet results will be made available after the completion of Saturday's events.
