SELINSGROVE, Pa. - For the second week in a row Megan Hunter and Sheena Crawley both set school records. Hunter broke her own record in the 800m and Crawley obtained the school mark in the 3000-meter on Saturday at the Orange and Maroon Classic hosted by Susquehanna College. The meet was a non-team scoring event and featured participants from Division's II and III.
Crawley took first in the 3,000 meter crossing the line at 10:34.61. She broke the record that stood for over 15 years. Lois Lucente '86 ran a 10:45.0 back in 1985. Crawley has set a school in every event this season.
Hunter ran a 2:21.13, placing second, in the 800 meter. She turned in a time of 2:24.62 in 2008.
Caitlin Regan finished eighth in the 800 with a time of 2:26.91. Regan teamed up with Henley Siegrist, Kristen Marinaccio and Hunter to win the 4x400 relay. The group finished at 4:10.36 five seconds faster then Muhlenberg who took second.
Coach Lauren Mable got into the action tying for second in the 55-meter dash (7.57) and taking first in the 200 meters with a time of 27.07. Kelly Farrelly finished 10th in the 5000 meter run (20:17.84).
The Diplomats had a good showing in the field events with four athletes placing in the top 10. Sylvia Zohrabian finished ninth in the pole vault (8'6) while Hannah Westlake took 10th in the high jump (4' 7.75"). Westlake was matched by teammate Catherine Westerduin who also placed 10th in the high jump. Westerduin also took 5th in the triple jump (33' 9.5"). Martha Stefaniak placed eighth in the shot put (32' 11.25") and in the weight throw (35' 3.75").
F&M returns to action on January 30th when the Diplomats host the Coach I Open. Meet time is scheduled for 11:00 am.
