COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - Sheena Crawley secured gold in the 1500 meters for the second straight year to lead the Franklin & Marshall women's track & field team on the final day of the Centennial Conference (CC) Championships on Sunday at Ursinus.
The Diplomats tallied 69 points to place sixth in the nine-team field. Johns Hopkins captured the team crown with 208.5 points, followed by Dickinson (116), Ursinus (115.5), Haverford (107) and Swarthmore (73).
Crawley picked up the fifth gold medal of her outdoor career on Sunday, racing past the field in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:39.92 to earn 10 points for F&M. Crawley also notched two silver medals on the day, in the 800 meters and 4x400 meter relay. The junior took second in the 800 at 2:18.54, before teaming with Henley Siegrist, Ariel Leftkovits and Caitlin Regan to grab silver in the 4x400 with a mark of 3:57.19. The quartet narrowly lost out on gold as the team from Johns Hopkins won by just .14 seconds.
Regan also had an impressive day for the Diplomats, adding another silver and a bronze in the 400 and 200 meters, respectively. The senior tallied a second-place finish in the 400 at 59.31, while nabbing third in the 200 at 26.73. Leftkovits finished fifth in the 200 with a mark of 26.96.
The Diplomats are back in action on Monday, May 14 at the Swarthmore Last Chance Meet.
