GETTYSBURG, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall's women's track & field team captured first place at the Little Three Meet hosted by Gettysburg on Saturday. The Diplomats secured 11 first-place finishes for a total of 141 points, edging out second-place Dickinson by 10 points.
Olivia Bendit and Sheena Crawley recorded multiple top placings to lead the way for F&M, while Rebecca Swisher, Kristen Marinaccio, Livia Meneghin, Martha Stefaniak, Arielle Van Wingerden, and the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams also claimed gold.
Bendit won the 100 meters in 13.27 seconds, and also nabbed the top spot in the 200 at 27.76. Crawley came away with wins in both the 800 meters (2:23.28) and 1500 meters (4:54.48).
Bendit was also a part of the winning 4x100 relay squad, teaming up with Alexandra Hawkins, Sylvia Zohrabian, and Marinaccio for a time of 52.16. The 4x400 relay of Samantha Greenberg, Marinaccio, Ariel Lefkovits, and Zohrabian also grabbed first at 4:17.29.
Marinaccio notched her third first-place finish of the day in the long jump with a leap of 4.57 meters, edging out Greenberg, who placed second at 4.56 meters.
Meneghin claimed the top spot in the shot put with a mark of 10.30 meters, followed closely both Stefaniak in second at 10.29 meters. Stefaniak won the discus throw with a toss of 35.48 meters, while Meneghin placed third at 30.77 meters.
Swisher took first in the pole vault with a mark of 11'-00" - a new school record, while Van Wingerden tallied top honors in the javelin with a throw of 34.80 meters.
Lefkovits and Greenberg added second-place finishes in the 400 meters and 100-meter hurdles, respectively. Lefkovits ran the 400 in 1:03.87, and Greenberg completed the hurdles in 17.38.
Larissa Kehne also delivered a top-three placing for the Diplomats, nabbing third in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:12.36.
F&M returns to competition next Saturday at the Crusader Outdoor Classic hosted by Susquehanna.
