LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's track & field team is ready to begin competition at the 2014 Centennial Conference (CC) Championships on Friday at Swarthmore. The three-day event will take place at Clothier Field Stadium.
The Diplomats are looking to improve on an eight-place finish at the 2014 CC Indoor Championships and a seventh-place spot at last year's outdoor Championships.
Sophomore Rebecca Swisher and freshman Maya Jackson headline the list of F&M competitors as both have had several first-place performances throughout the outdoor season. At the Delaware Open on April 12, Swisher reset her F&M pole vault record at 12'01.50", while Jackson ranks third in the javelin and discus and fourth in the shot put. This outdoor season, Jackson has three first-place finishes in the discus and one in both the shot put and javelin.
Other Diplomats ranking near the top of the conference in their respective events entering the weekend include Morgan Gray (Third in triple jump), Samantha Walmer (Sixth in 100-meter hurdles), and Livia Meneghin (Seventh in shot put),
Day one of the CC Championships begins Friday with the decathlon, pole vault, heptathlon, and 10,000 meters.
