HAVERFORD, Pa. – Rebecca Swisher won the pole vault for the third year in a row to lead Franklin & Marshall at the 2015 Centennial Conference (CC) Indoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Haverford Sunday afternoon.
The Diplomats took eighth with 41 points while Johns Hopkins claimed the team title with 163.5 points. Haverford scored 115 for second and Dickinson took third at 103.5.
Swisher, a junior, took gold with a height of 12'-3. 5" to score 10 points for the Diplomats. Alyssa Ward claimed silver in the high jump at 5'-1.0" and put eight more points on the board for the Diplomats and added eight more points in the long jump with another second place finish at 16'-6.0". Livia Meneghin placed third in the shot put with a personal best of 40'-6.0" while Maya Jackson tossed 40'-4.25 for a fourth-place finish.
The Distance Medley, 4x200, 4x400 and 4x800 all scored points for the Diplomats. The Medley Relay of Kimberly Hilfrank, Olivia Bendit, Grace Adams and Rachael Weiss took eighth at 13.16.26 and just missed an ECAC cut.
Adams, Hilfrank, Mallory Reed and Caroline Dorey-Stein made up the 4x800 that placed eighth in 10:28.07. Ola Kiszka, Swisher, Caroline Muir and Bendit made up the 4x400 team that placed seventh in 4:29.92.
There is a possible last chance meet scheduled for next Saturday with the NCAA Indoor Championships slated for March 13-14 for those that qualify.
