Swisher Resets Pole Vault Record at Millersville Metrics

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Rebecca Swisher reset her previous Franklin & Marshall pole vault record to lead the Diplomats to a ninth place showing out of 20 teams at the 33rd annual Millersville Metrics on Saturday. West Chester won the event with 121 points, while Millersville placed second with 108.50 followed by Indiana (Pa.) in third at 94.

Swisher bested her old height of 12'-02.50", which she accomplished at the Centennial Conference (CC) Championships a season, with a height of 12'-03.25" to win the event.

Alyssa Ward put together two second-place finishes, earning the No. 2 spot in the high jump at 5'-02.25" and in the long jump at 17'-04.75". Kimberly Hilfrank finished 11th in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:36.25 and Grace Adams placed close behind in 13th at 2:37.07.

In the shot put, Livia Meneghin placed fifth with a throw of 39'-01.25", while Jackson (125'-01") was fourth in the discus and 10th in the javelin throw with a distance of 114'-06".

The Diplomats return to action next Saturday at the Delaware Open.
