Swisher Three-Peats in Pole Vault at Day One of CC Championships

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – For the third consecutive year, Rebecca Swisher won the pole vault to lead the Franklin & Marshall women's track & field team at the Centennial Conference (CC) Championships hosted by Muhlenberg. The junior has now won the pole vault at both the Indoor and Outdoor Conference Championships for three straight years.

Swisher's height of 11'-08.00" was good for the win, as she secured 10 points for the Diplomats, who are currently tied for fourth place with Muhlenberg. Dickinson leads with 18 points, while Johns Hopkins is in second at 16 and Haverford is third with 11.

Swisher's height today qualified for the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) D-III Championships, which are held on May 14-15 in Springfield, Mass. Swisher was the only F&M athlete to compete on both the men's and women's side on Friday.

At last year's CC Championships, Swisher won the pole vault at 12'-02.50", which broke the old F&M record at the time.

Day two of the CC Championships begins tomorrow at 8:45 a.m. Live video can be seen here and live results can be viewed by clicking here.
