F&M Faces Top Competition in Baltimore

BALTIMORE, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall competed at the Loyola-Hopkins Invitational on Saturday, taking on teams from Divisions I-III at the meet, which was co-hosted by Loyola and Johns Hopkins. The Diplomats compiled several quality performances, particularly in the field events, en route to a total of 14 points and a 12th-place finish out of 18 teams.

Rebecca Swisher notched the highest finish of the day, taking second in the pole vault after clearing a height of 3.70 meters. Brynn Warrington of Division I Towson took first in the event.

Alyssa Ward turned in a pair of quality efforts on the day, including a 7th-place finish in the high jump after she cleared a height of 1.58 meters. In the long jump, her leap of 4.90 meters was good for 12th place.

Morgan Gray joined Ward in the jumps, taking seventh in the triple jump. The senior marked a distance of 10.72 meters on her third attempt to earn two points for the Diplomats. Lindsey Powers paced F&M in the throws, earning eighth place in the shot put. Her heave of 11.33 meters tallied a point for the Diplomats as well.

F&M returns to action on Saturday, heading to the All-American Meet at East Stroudsburg University.
