Season in Review: 2017-18 Women’s Indoor Track and Field

LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's women's indoor track and field team delivered another strong showing this year, closing out its indoor season at the Centennial Conference (CC) Championships, hosted by Ursinus from February 24-25, collecting 55 points for sixth place. 

Alyssa Ward '18 led the charge, being named CC Outstanding Field Performer of the year after taking two individual gold medals, two relay golds, and one individual silver medal at this year's CC Indoor Championships. She repeated as the triple jump champion with a distance of 11.22m and set a program record in the process. The senior was also the anchor for the top-finishing 4x200 meter relay team (1:48.76) and 4x400 meter relay team (4:08.09). Ward tallied a second gold, clearing a height of 1.55 meters to take first in the high jump and added a silver medal with a 5.17m distance in the long jump.  

Kaitlin Muccio '19, Aleksandra Kiszka '18, Rachel Wylie '20 and Ward teamed up for two gold medals at CC Champs, taking first in the 4x200 meter relay (1:48.76) and the 4x400 meter relay (4:08.09).

Wylie remained a consistent top-performer throughout the year, winning the 800 meter dash (2:25.61) at the Sunday Invite hosted by Cornell. The sophomore also took first in the 400 meter dash (1:02.41) at the Koegh Invite hosted by Haverford.

Emma Frazier '21 opened the season with a second place finish that the Coach I open at F&M with a time of 3:20.00.
