4x800 Relay Team Resets 36-Year-Old Record


ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The 4x800 Relay Team of Kaitlin Muccio, Alexis Salerno, Laura Greene, and Elizabeth O'Connell reset a 36-year-old program record with a 9:37.60 finish during the second day of the Centennial Conference (CC) Outdoor Championships. The Diplomats ended the day with 10 team points, while Johns Hopkins held the top spot with 97. 

The 4x800 Relay Team reset the previous record, set in 1983 by Denise Paull '84, Lois Lucente '86, Nancy Leet '86, and Tracy Tiimony '83, by 5.2 seconds.

Three more Diplomats qualified for tomorrow's finals with Muccio and Greene both setting personal bests in their respective events.

Rachel Wylie delivered a standout performance on the track with her time of 1:02.57 in the 400m Hurdles standing as the nation's 13th-fastest time this year to put herself in position to make the NCAA Championships.
