Series History: F&M opens up Centennial Conference (CC) action at Muhlenberg, a team the Diplomats have owned over the years with a 22-2 mark, including 10 straight wins.
On Friday and Saturday, F&M will compete in the ASICS Invitational hosted by Juniata. The Diplomats take on Salisbury at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are even all time at 8-8, however the Seagulls have taken the last three matches, including a 3-1 victory last season.
F&M holds a 4-3 record against Cortland St. and these squads have not met since 2003. No. 6 Juniata holds a 15-3 mark against the Diplomats, while No. 12 Chris. Newport leads the all-time series with F&M at 3-0.
Last Week: The Diplomats posted a 1-2 record last week, including a 3-2 win over St. Mary's (Md.). Susquehanna and Stevenson shut out F&M 3-0 before the Diplomats' win over the Seahawks.
Record Book Watch: Hubbard has amassed 2721 assists in her career, good for fifth on F&M's all-time list. She needs just 87 more to tie Sissy Volpi's (1991-94) 2808 for fourth. Hubbard (144) is also just three service aces shy of tying Rosemary Hartmann's (1999, 2000, 2002) 147 for 12th all time and five away from tying 11th-place Amy Miller's (1994-97) 149.
Atop the CC Leader Board: Hubbard sits in second in the CC with 0.78 service aces per set and trails only Washington's Kristin Lee (0.79) by a slim margin. Sanchez ranks second in the conference in digs per set at 4.30, just behind Urinus' Leah Masiello's 4.39 average.
Doubling Down: The Diplomats have five double-doubles as a team so far this season, with Hubbard notching three. In its win over St. Mary's, F&M supplied three double-doubles (Hubbard 42 assists and 15 digs, Ezekiel 11 kills and 11 digs, Laforgia 15 kills and 13 digs).
