WESTMINSTER, Md. – Franklin & Marshall notched a hard-fought 3-1 (25-17, 18-25, 25-22, 30-28) victory against McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) volleyball action on Wednesday evening. 

The win improved the Diplomats' record to 14-4, 5-0 CC while the Green Terror fell to 13-3, 3-2 CC. 

The Green Terror took a quick 9-2 lead to open the match, but F&M responded with seven unanswered points with Amy Mullen behind the service line and two kills from Allison Franke to come within one. A 5-0 run that culminated in back-to-back kills from Grace Maggiore and Grace Polisano gave the Diplomats a 13-10 advantage. A Barbara Kapustin kill started F&M on a 5-0 run to take the set with a service ace from Maggiore finishing the frame 25-17 in F&M's favor.

A Franke kill gave the Diplomats a 3-2 edge to start the second set. A kill from Casey Morrow kept F&M's lead at 8-7. The Green Terror responded with an 8-0 run to take back the lead. The Diplomats battled to come back within two, but McDaniel finished the set by a 25-18 tally. 

Delaney Hahn opened the third set with a service ace to give F&M the momentum to take a 6-2 lead. McDaniel battled back with the score remaining close taking a slight lead, but errors on the part of the Green Terror gave the Diplomats a 21-19 advantage. F&M kept the pressure with service aces from Hahn and Mullen and Morrow finished the set with a kill to make it 25-22.  

Mullen was the first to serve for F&M in the final set, helping the Diplomats to a 3-1 lead. Back-to-back kills from Morrow and Maggiore kept the score in F&M's favor at 9-7. Errors from McDaniel helped the Diplomats on a 6-1 run to extend the lead to three. Both teams battled into extra points with a kill from Franke giving F&M the final lead while an error ended the set 30-28 to give the Diplomats the win. 

Franke paced the offense with 13 kills and one solo block, followed by Polisano with a double-double of 10 kills, 13 digs, and three total blocks. Maggiore tallied 38 assists, 13 digs, and four service aces. Carly Ostrowski anchored the defense with 17 digs. 

F&M returns to action on Friday, hosting No. 6 Juniata for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
