Franklin & Marshall plays at Neumann University on Wednesday night. The Diplomats and Knights have split their last two meet-ups, but F&M was 5-0 in the five prior matches between the two teams from 2005-12.
The Diplomats begin the North Country Invitational with a Friday match at Clarkson University at 6:30 PM. This is just the second time that the Diplomats and Golden Knights have met up in their respective histories. F&M hosted Clarkson last season and snuck by to win 3-2 in five sets, winning the fifth set 15-12.
The North Country Invitational moves over to St. Lawrence University for the Diplomats on Saturday. F&M first plays Brockport a 3:00 PM. This is the first time since 2005 that the Diplomats and Golden Eagles are slated to face one another.
F&M wraps up its week of action with the conclusion of the North Country Invitational against St. Lawrence University. It is the first time that the Diplomats and Saints have ever faced each other.
F&M got their season off on the right foot by going 3-0 in the F&M Scramble against Mary Washington, SUNY Geneseo, and Arcadia. Grace Maggiore was named MVP of the tournament and tallied 110 assists (9.17/set), 37 digs (3.08/set), 12 kills (1.00/set, and 11 aces (0.92/set) across the 12 sets. F&M's Delaney Hahn and Allison Franke were also named to the All-Tournament Team.
F&M received 13 points in the AVCA coaches poll, placing them just outside the top 25 in the nation. Complete Poll. Grace Polisano enters the week 21st in program history with 848 career points, just 1 point shy of Kerry Rom '12 (849) for the no. 20 spot. She has 737 career kills, good for 17th in program history, and 31 away from passing Candace Tussing '13 (767). She is also fifth in program history with 906 service attempts, and only 14 away from passing Parys Zambas '17 for fourth.
Grace Maggiore enters the week with 1,999 assists, 8th in program history. Her next assist will be her 2,000th. Maggiore has recorded 127 career services aces, which is 16th in program history. 14 more aces would give her the No. 15 spot in program history, passing Elizabeth Earll '05.
