Crawley All-American; Places 11th

WINNECONNE, Wisc. – Sheena Crawley earned All-America honors with an 11th place finish at 2011 NCAA Cross Country Championships at the Lake Breeze Golf Club hosted by Wisconsin-Oshkosh on Saturday.

Crawley was in 22nd place at the one-mile mark and moved up a position by the two-mile mark. The junior moved up four spots at three miles and passed six runners down the final stretch to place 11th. Crawley completed the 6k course in 21:22.36.

She improved 79 places from last year's 90th place finish to earn her third overall All-American certificate (two track, one cross country).  Crawley joins Denise Paul, Lois Lucente, Amanda Shaw and Terri Smith as the fifth Diplomat runner, and first since 1985, to become an All-American.

"Sheena has worked extremely hard to be a better distance runner," said coach John Stoudt. " Her hard work has paid off and she has proven she is more than a fast middle distance runner. "

Williams' Chirara Del Piccolo won the National Champions with a time of 20:53.08.
