YORK, Pa. – Sheena Crawley and freshman Mallory Reed finished first and second at the Rich Achtzehn Classic on Saturday. Franklin & Marshall finished with 41 points, 13 points behind first place finisher, York College. The Diplomats took second out of the four teams competing at John Rudy Park.
Crawley (24:11.18) won her second race of the season as she averaged just over four minutes per kilometer in the 6k race hosted by York College. Reed (24:43.06) crossed the line with her highest finish in her young collegiate career as she finished 25 seconds faster than Misty Parshall from York who finished third.
Julia Zielinski (26:13.88) finished in 10th, followed closely by seniors, Lauren Dever (26:36.76) and Kara Doolan (26:42.07) who finished 13th and 15th respectfully. Sophomore, Jessica Love (26:57.25) managed 17th and freshman Justice Wright (27:13.03) crossed the line in 20th.
The Diplomats' top seven runners secured second place as they averaged 25:41.39, for their best result of the season so far.
F&M will be back in action on September 29th at the Don Cathcart Invitational. The event will take place at Salisbury College and start at 9:45 a.m.
