LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's women's cross country team start the 2019 season with a core group of returners and a handful of new faces looking to push the team into another strong year.

Athletes to Watch
The Diplomats return every key member from last year's team. F&M adds some depth to the squad with a six-member first-year class that will be immediate contenders in the lineup.
Laura Greene '22 was very impressive in her rookie season. She paced the squad at NCAA Regionals, finishing 136th out 340 runners with a time of 25:51.00. Greene also led F&M at the Centennial Conference (CC) Championships on Oct. 27th, taking 43rd with a 24:31.2 finish.
Elizabeth O'Connell '22 and Alexis Salerno '22 had strong rookie seasons last year. O'Connell paced the Diplomats at the Hood College Invitational on Oct. 13, helping the team to a third-place finish out of 11 teams with a time of 24:37.6, which was good for 16th. Salerno got the top spot on Sept. 29 at the Cathcart Invite, taking 16th out of 102 runners with a 23:42.3 race.
Emma Frazierd '22 has been dominant in her first two years of collegiate competition. Last year she secured one of the top-three spots in the Diplomats' lineup. Frazier led the group at last year's Mideast Regionals with a time of 24:34.5 (111th).
The Road Ahead
The women's cross country team begins its season by hosting Lebanon Valley at Baker campus. Then they host the annual Alumni 5K with Millersville at Baker Campus on Thursday, Sept. 5 at 6:00 p.m. The Little Three Meet takes place on Friday, Sept. 13 at 6:00 p.m. and will be hosted by F&M.
Haverford will host the women's Centennial Conference Championship, which takes place on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 11:00 a.m., while the NCAA Mid-East Regionals are set for Saturday, Nov. 16 at 11:00 a.m. and are being hosted by Lehigh.
