Baseball Schedule Change

LANCASTER, Pa. -- The baseball game scheduled for Sunday versus Guilford has been postponed. The game scheduled for Monday will now be a double-header. First pitch will now be at 2:00 p.m. (more)

Diplomats Rally for First Win

Drew Atkins’ two-out single in the ninth proved to be the difference as Franklin & Marshall defeated Rutgers-Camden, 9-8, in the third game of the Bob Williams Memorial Tournament. The Diplomats, who were victims of two ninth inning rallies over the weekend, finally found themselves on the other side of the coin. F&M picked up its first win of the year, improving to 1-2. The Raptors fell to 1-4. (more)

Diplomats Fall in the Ninth

Rowan’s two-out rally in the bottom of the ninth, lifted the Owls to a 3-2 victory over Franklin & Marshall in a non-conference baseball game Saturday afternoon. The Diplomats drop to 0-2 on the year, while Rowan improved to 3-2. (more)

Cougars Rally to Spoil Season Opener

Franklin & Marshall scored three runs in the top of the ninth inning to take an 8-7 lead, but #3 Kean answered with in the bottom of the frame to escape with a 9-8 win. (more)

2010 Baseball Preview

Talk Baseball with Coach Taylor Today

Today, beginning at 1:30 p.m. EST, the Centennial Conference baseball coaches will hold an interactive chat to talk about the upcoming season. Each coach will be available for a 10-minute block to answer questions from the moderator and take a question or two, if time permits, from our audience. (more)

Tischler Featured on Baseball Blog

Russell Tischler was recently featured on a Baseball Blog highlighting players to watch in 2010. Tischler will enter his junior year at F&M and looks to take over the catcher void with the graduation of John Dutton. Last year, Tischler hit .288 in 59 at-bats. He scored 13 runs, hit 12 RBIs and one home run. (more)

Diplomats Receive Preseason Ranking

The Franklin & Marshall baseball team was picked 40th in the nation by the ABCA/Collegiate Baseball Division III Preseason Poll. The Diplomats advanced to the Centennial Conference Championship game last season only to see their chance at a title be washed away by rain. F&M was last ranked by ABCA in 2006 when the Diplomats finished the season fifth. (more)

Baseball Team Gives a Helping Hand

The Franklin & Marshall Baseball team recently volunteered at the Lancaster Start! Heart Walk as 35 players and two coaches gave up their Saturday afternoon to help at the October 3rd event. The players worked in many capacities, including serving as crossing guards through out Lancaster City, and helping to set up and break down the event. (more)

Adam Taylor was named the College’s 46th baseball coach on October 1, 2008. He takes over the program after spending the past three seasons as an assistant coach at William & Mary. “There was no shortage of quality candidates for this position,” said Epps. “When it came down to it, Coach Taylor was the perfect fit for both the College and our program. He has a proven record of attracting talented ballplayers to academically rigorous institutions at all levels and we are confident that he will capitalize on the program’s current upward trajectory.”
