Four Diplomats Named to CC Sportsmanship Team

Four Franklin & Marshall athletes have been named to the All-Centennial Conference Sportsmanship Team. Each Centennial Conference member institution was permitted to nominate one student from each winter program who exemplified the best in sportsmanship. Nominations were submitted by the athletic departments or head coaches. (more)

Diplomats Advance to Sweet 16

In front of a traveling contingent of Franklin & Marshall faithful, a group that brought the Mayser Center atmosphere to New York, the Diplomats edged out a 73-64 victory over the U.S. Merchant Marines Saturday. (more)

The Dance Continues

Kings Point, N.Y. - Four players scored in double-figures to lead #18 Franklin & Marshall to a 91-77 victory over Oneonta in the first round of the NCAA Division III tournament Friday. The Diplomats (24-4) advance to second round and will take on the winner of Wesley and the U.S. Merchant Marines at 7:00 p.m. tomorrow. F&M's 91 points was the most scored on the Red Dragons (23-6) this season. (more)

Brooks Named CC Player of the Week

Anthony Brooks was named Centennial Conference Player of the Week. Brooks averaged 17.5 points a game in the Centennial Conference Playoffs to lead F&M to its fifth CC title. Brooks shot 76.5% from the floor and was 4-for-4 from behind the arc over the weekend. He scored 19 points in a 91-78 win over Muhlenberg and contributed a team-high 16 points in the 66-62 over Gettysburg. (more)

2010 NCAA Bracket Set

The Franklin & Marshall men's basketball team earned its 21th NCAA Division III Tournament bid when the field was announced on Monday. The Centennial Conference (CC) Champions will travel to the U.S. Merchant Marines Campus in Kings Point, New York to take on Oneonta State on Friday. (more)

Diplomats Punch Dance Card

Often overshadowed by his teammates, Franklin & Marshall’s understated center Mike Baker was cast into the limelight with 3.7 seconds remaining in the Centennial Conference (CC) championship game. The Diplomats big man finally put Gettysburg away at the line, after F&M failed to convert on five trips to the stripe inside of the final two minutes. (more)

Championship Rematch !!

With the Diplomat faithful packed into the Mayser Center, #20 Franklin & Marshall took full advantage of the home court, defeating Muhlenberg 97-72 in a Centennial Conference (CC) semifinal game. The win sets up a rematch of last year’s championship game with Gettysburg. The Bullets defeated Washington, 91-78, in the other semifinal game. F&M will square off with Gettysburg tomorrow at 3 p.m. (more)

CC Final Four is Set

Franklin & Marshall will host the Centennial Conference (CC) Final Four this weekend at the Mayser Center. The Diplomats have the top seed and they will play Muhlenberg, an 84-69 winner of Ursinus on Wednesday evening, at 3 p.m. on Saturday. Washington (Md.) will take on Gettysburg in the first game at 1 p.m. (more)

2010 NCAA Tournament

Glenn Robinson

A 1967 graduate of West Chester University, Robinson became the all-time wins leader in Division III history by recording his 667th victory on February 14, 2004 at home versus Muhlenberg College. Robinson is 10th among all active NCAA coaches in victories and has already surpassed legendary UCLA coach John Wooden (664-112) for 24th on the all-time NCAA wins list. Historically, Robinson guided the Diplomats to the Division III Final Four in 1979, 1991, 1996 and 2000 and was named the Basketball Times Division III "Coach of the Year" in 1991. He has earned conference and NABC "Coach of the Year" honors 12 times, including the 2004 award for guiding the Diplomats to a 26-4 record, the Centennial Conference title and an NCAA Elite Eight berth.
