Franklin & Marshall's football team will enter the season as the 25th ranked team in the nation according to The Sporting News. The Diplomats are coming off of a 9-2 season, that concluded with a come-from-behind, 29-24 win over Wilkes in the ECAC South Atlantic Championship game.

Seven Selected for Hall of Fame
Seven Diplomats have been selected for induction into Franklin & Marshall Colleges Athletics Hall of Fame. Penny Blakeman 86, John Hargreaves 74, Alex Kraft 02, Justin Salton 03, Joseph Schaller 82, Dale Schleif 73, and Jennifer Slaybuagh 92, will be inducted as part of Octobers Homecoming Weekend festivities.

Ridinger and Surma Named Captains
Franklin & Marshalls head football coach, John Troxell, named his captains for the 2010 squad Thursday morning. Seniors Jay Ridinger and Mark Surma will lead the 123rd edition of Diplomats football when the season kicks off in September.

Lovett Joins G-Men
Who says you cant go home again? New York City native, Barry Lovett looked pretty good playing football in his Franklin & Marshall blue. Now he is getting his shot to wear the New York Giants blue. On Thursday, Lovett was invited to the Giants minicamp, which gets underway this morning.

2010 Football Schedule Set
Franklin & Marshall Colleges Department of Athletics and Recreation announced the 2010 football slate on Wednesday afternoon. The schedule features one new addition in Centennial Conference (CC) associate member Susquehanna, as well as the shuffling of several games.

Lovett Set for Temple Pro Day
Franklin & Marshall graduate, Barry Lovett 09, will put his athletic wares on display in front of National Football League scouts at Temple Universitys Pro Day, Thursday, March 18. It is the first of two pro days for Lovett, who will workout next Thursday at Stony Brook as well.

Lauren's First & Goal Vying for $100k
Laurens First and Goal Foundation, a 501(c)3 charity that benefits pediatric cancer patients, has a chance to win up to $100,000 from the Gildan Genuine Stewardship program. F&M head coach, John Troxell, serves on the foundation's board.

Lovett Set for Friday Workout
Barry Lovett played his last game in a Franklin & Marshall College uniform in November. He represented the United States at the Tazon de Estrellas. He is hoping that his life in football will carry on to the next level.

Named the 39th coach in Franklin & Marshall football history on March 22, 2006, Troxell took the reins of the Diplomats following five seasons (2001-2005) as an assistant coach at Lafayette during which he served as video coordinator, running backs coach, recruiting coordinator and special teams coach for the 2004 and 2005 Patriot League champion Leopards.
