Tompos Named Golf Coach

Franklin & Marshall Director of Athletics and Recreation, Patricia S.W. Epps has announced Andy Tompos ’69 as Head Men’s Golf Coach. Tompos takes over for Glenn Robinson, who has guided the Diplomats since 1997. (more)

Anttonen Takes Third at CC Championships

Chuck Anttonen shaved a shot in each round of the 2008 Centennial Conference Golf Championships to work his way into a third place finish. His effort led the Franklin & Marshall contingent to a fourth place finish amongst the seven teams represented on the par 72, 6,713-yard Bridges Golf Course. (more)

Three Diplomats Sit Fifth at CC Championships

Three members of Franklin & Marshall's men's golf team, Chuck Anttonen, Randy Boll, and Steve Colalillo, are tied for fifth place in the field of 35 at the 2008 Centennial Conference Golf Championships. The Diplomats shaved 15 shots off of its Friday round to climb two spots into third place in the team standings, but still trails Muhlenberg by 16 strokes, and McDaniel by 12. (more)

Anttonen Tied for Seventh at Centennial Championships

Chuck Anttonen shot a 78 at the first round of the 2008 Centennial Conference Men's Golf Championships on Friday. His six shots over par leaves Franklin & Marshall's top finisher in a four-way tie for third place with two rounds of competition remaining at The Bridges Golf Club in Abbotstown. (more)

Fucigna and Woods Pace F&M at Glenmaura

Joseph Fucigna's April hot-streak continued this weekend at Glenmauara National Golf Club. The Franklin & Marshall sophomore shot a 77 in both rounds of the Glenmaura National Collegiate Invitational, which wrapped up Monday. Fucigna's 154 was matched by teammate Andrew Woods, tying the Diplomats for tenth place in the field of 60. F&M finished in third place tie with York amongst the 12 teams competing on the par 71, 6,339-yard course. (more)

Diplomats Take Second at Bent Creek

Franklin & Marshall's men's golf team took second place to Wesley College on Monday at the Bent Creek Invitational, hosted by the Diplomats. The Wolverines posted the top two individual finishes, while F&M placed six golfers in the top 15 in the 83-golfer field. The Diplomats "White" team took fourth place amongst the 17 competing teams. Diplomats Take Second at Blue Jay Classic

Playing their third round in five days at the Hershey Country Club, Franklin & Marshall's men's golf team took second place at the Blue Jay Classic, hosted by Elizabethtown on Thursday. The Diplomats had three golfers finish in the top ten. The field consisted of 15 teams totaling 79 golfers. (more)

Golfers Sit Fifth Through Round One

Paced by Joe Fucigna's 74, Franklin & Marshall's men's golfers are in fifth place of the 15-team Mid-Atlantic Region Invitational. The University of Rochester is hosting the Sunday-Monday tournament at the Hershey Country Club. Sunday's configuration was a par 73, 6,880-yard course. (more)

Golfers Place Sixth at Mid-Atlantic Regional

Joseph Fucigna shot a 77 on Monday at the final round of the Mid-Atlantic Region Invitational to finish the two-day tournament in seventh place in the field of 75 golfers. He led the Diplomats to a sixth place finish amongst the region's 15 top-ranked teams competing at the Hershey Country Club. F&M competed without two of its top golfers, Chuck Anttonen and Dennis Gunderson. (more)
